8/15/13 Backcountry fishing florida keys in August.

It's mid-august and it is still extremly busy here in Islamorada, Florida at Bud n' Mary's Marina.  I looked at the booking calender and the past few days almost every guide that isn't taking time off has been fishing, and tomorrow all of them are.  The august islamorada fishing has been pretty decent too!  Capt. Sid Bryant and Capt. Rick Stanczyk had a family group trip, Sid with dad and young child, and Rick with 3 young teenage boys.  Day 1 was a half day Sid caught a variety of snappers plus a big shark for the youngster and Rick had good action with trout and mangrove snappers.  Today both caught plenty of trout, ladyfish, snapper, and some nice sharks.  The 3 teens also each got big goliath grouper and 1 big tarpon.  Capt. Bill Bassett reported lots of action yesterday with trout and ladyfish, plus 10 or so sharks.  His brother Capt. Mike Bassett had the same and also caught 4 goliath groupers.  Capt. Jim Willcox had some redfish action in the shallow water. Capt. Ken Cohan had some tarpon too out in some of the channels yesterday as well deep in the backcountry.
