Florida Keys Fishing Reports

Islamorada Fishing Reports have been great as of late!  We are entering the spring and some schools of tarpon have started to show up.  The redfish and snook bite back off the cape and flamingo area has been great as of well, on everything from shrimp to pilchards and pinfish.  Action in the gulf is starting to happen as well on some florida keys fishing trips.  Some cobia and permit have been out there, along with big goliath groupers and sharks.  Spanish mackerel fishing is still pretty good though we are getting to the end of that as the water temperatures rise.  A good mix of trout, ladyfish, pompano, jacks, and snappers can be found in many of the channels in the backcountry, as well as in muds found in the bay.  Kingfish have been on the edge of the reef, and sailfish are still around.  Tuna and amberjack have been offshore on many islamorada fishing charters, with a handful of dolphin though that should improve as time goes on.  Great fishing on the reef too for snappers - yellowtail and muttons, and groupers though they are out of season until May.  Swordfish have been way out offshore too, we catch them year round here while fishing in the Florida Keys! 305-664-2461 or 1-800-742-7945  Islamorada Fishing website!

Sailfishing in Isla Mujeres

Capt. Richard Stanczyk and friends flew down to Isla Mujeres this past week to meet fellow long time friend and captain Dave Peck for some fishing in Isla Mujeres, Mexico.  The sailfish bite was hot, they caught over 40 in two days of fishing!  Here's some shots Ron Modra got while they were down there!
